The "A" represents roughly the pear shape of the envelope, and the 19 is the diameter of the envelope in 1/8ths of an inch. Feb 22, 2013 · So I have replaced every incandescent in my mother's house with LED's, aside from these pesky HR16 E26/E27 35W Halogens in a 12 year-old stove hood. Apparently they burn out all the time. I see LED equivalents for various halogens like MR16 and PAR20, GU10, etc- will any of these be compatible with HR16 E26/27?

As for the DX LED bulb, in the absence of any fade test, would treat it like a Lights of America self-dimming showerhead bulb. Sort of like self-flattening tires or self-splitting pants. There is nothing to suggest anything different.

The Microbrite cfl (called cold cathode tube) runs cool enough so you can easily touch it without getting burned. I agree with jtr about the 5 watt led limit on the edison base without active cooling.

Virgil has explained this quite a few times in past posts, which is why H9 is not usually recommended for reflector lamps. The default answer should always be a high-performance H11 UNLESS there is known test data of a particular lamp in question.
