The E Scow is a recreational sailboat, originally built of wood and now predominantly of fiberglass sandwich construction, with wood trim. It has a fractional sloop rig with either wooden or aluminum spars and running backstays. The forestay is attached well aft of the boat's bow.

May 7, 2006 · I just purchased a 1963, 28"wood E Scow on E-BAY. Will be picking it up this next week. It needs work. No rot. Varnished bottom, canvas top side. Both need refinishing. Mast & Boom need refinishing. I will keep boat on trailer. only in water for day use. What should I finish bottom with? Was thinking of revarnishing.

The E Scow is built with a centreboard keel. A centreboard keel is a pivoting lifting keel, allowing to sail both coastal and inland waters. The boat can enter even shallow marinas as the draft is just about 1.14 - 1.24 meter (3.74 - 4.04 ft) dependent on the load. See immersion rate below.

Nov 18, 2009 · Second the bottom of the boat is hard jell coat, there is no ability to place antifoul on the bottom. And if you did you would significantly slow the boat down, what's the point? The only real option is to find a facility where you can dry sail it.
