DUSP4 - Wikipedia
Dual specificity protein phosphatase 4 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the DUSP4 gene. [5][6][7] The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the dual specificity protein phosphatase subfamily. These phosphatases inactivate their target kinases by dephosphorylating both the phosphoserine/threonine and phosphotyrosine residues.

Mar 30, 2025 · DUSP4 (Dual Specificity Phosphatase 4) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with DUSP4 include Immunodeficiency 13 and Ogden Syndrome. Among its related pathways are Toll Like Receptor 7/8 (TLR7/8) Cascade and MAPK family signaling cascades.
DUSP4 modulates RIG-I- and STING-mediated IRF3-type I IFN …
Feb 21, 2024 · In this study, we identified a critical regulatory function of the DUSP4 phosphatase in innate immune signalling. We found that DUSP4 regulates the activation of TBK1 and ERK1/2 in a signalling...
DUSP4 is involved in the enhanced proliferation and survival of DUSP4 …
Jul 30, 2020 · Dual-specificity phosphatase 4 (DUSP4), a MAP kinase phosphatase, has been regarded as a tumor suppressor gene in several cancers. However, high-level expression of DUSP4 is occasionally observed in specific cancers and its functional significance in carcinogenesis is not fully understood.
DUSP4 promotes esophageal squamous cell carcinoma …
May 30, 2023 · In this study, we report that DUSP4 is highly expressed in human ESCC and is negatively correlated with patient prognosis. Knockdown of DUSP4 suppresses cell proliferation and patient-derived xenograft (PDX)-derived organoid (PDXO) growth and inhibits cell-derived xenograft (CDX) development.
The MAPK dual specific phosphatase (DUSP) proteins: A versatile ...
Sep 1, 2021 · Increased DUSP4 expression is suggested to be responsible for the defective TCR signal and to serve as an elevated premature aging marker in T cells from ICL patients. Silencing of DUSP4 restores the activity of ERK and represents a viable approach in ICL treatment [47].
Regulation of Dual-Specificity Phosphatase (DUSP) Ubiquitination …
Dual-specificity phosphatases (DUSPs) dephosphorylate many key signaling molecules, including MAPKs, leading to the regulation of duration, magnitude, or spatiotemporal profiles of MAPK activities. Hence, DUSPs need to be properly controlled.
DUSP4-mediated accelerated T-cell senescence in idiopathic …
Apr 16, 2015 · Intrinsic T-cell defects were caused by increased expression of dual-specific phosphatase 4 (DUSP4). Normalization of DUSP4 expression using a specific siRNA improved CD4 + T-cell activity in ICL, as this restored TCR-induced extracellular signal-regulated kinase activation and increased the expression of the costimulatory molecules CD27 and CD40L.

Induced DUSP4 expression suppresses both in vitro and in vivo growths of breast cancer cells. Our studies show that induced DUSP4 expression blocks the cell cycle at the G1/S checkpoint; inhibits ERK1/2, p38, JNK1, RB, and NFkB p65 phosphorylation; and inhibits invasiveness of …
Methylation of dual-specificity phosphatase 4 controls cell ...
Jul 27, 2021 · Using knockdown screening and single-cell transcriptional analysis, we demonstrate that DUSP4 is the phosphatase that specifically inactivates p38 kinase to promote megakaryocyte (Mk) differentiation. Mechanistically, PRMT1-mediated methylation of DUSP4 triggers its ubiquitinylation by an E3 ligase HUWE1.
