Mar 4, 2025 · The Egyptian geese we shot in Africa were about the same size as our snow geese and the Francolin were similar in size to our Huns or Ruffed grouse (depending on what species of Francolin he got). The pricing would be about the same as similar sized birds here. Our Egyptian geese were taken in peanut fields and were pretty fat.

A few hunters ground sluice the grouse and they are so shot up that a taxidermist can't even mount the bird. I know hunting season is closed when the male sage grouse start their strutting and mating ritual by puffing out their air sacs.
