Task A due, Task A due today, Task A due date are all fine calendar entries. Calendar entries are not typically subject to full English grammar rules- kinda like newspaper headlines.

You still see the due date on the card even when it's a past day, like you have been procrastinating this task for days, you still always see it in your actual "today".
