Dec 17, 2014 · Tide also makes a scent and dye free detergent made for gentle skin. We decided to try that first instead of Dreft, LO took very well to it. The Tide detergent is in a white bottle, I think it says "Gentle" on it, can't remember for sure though.

Feb 21, 2025 · Hi! I've used Dreft for the past 7 years due to a skin allergy. The scent has not changed while I've had it, and it sure has always been strong. I always use a small amount of it (Level 1 on the cap), and that helps the clothes smell nice and not overwhelming.

Jan 15, 2025 · Dreft actually smells awful to me, but I can't stand strong detergent smells. Baby detergents aren't really special from regular detergents. If your baby ends up with sensitive skin, like eczema, then you'll want something fragrance free, but otherwise you may be able to use your normal detergent.

Feb 28, 2025 · Dreft is scented. My dermotologist went on a rant about it when I was asking her recommendations for skin safe baby products. She said get a free and clear detergent. I went a little extra and got “Molly Suds” unscented. Its not only free and clear but its also kind of natural/crunchy clean. Any free and clear would be better than dreft though.

Dec 30, 2024 · Dreft was way better before they changed the scent. Now the only way to get the “baby” smell is to add the Dreft beads to it and it still doesn’t smell like It used to. I wash everything before using. Swing covers, blankets, swaddles, car seats, etc.

Jul 12, 2024 · My baby got a rash from Dreft and several of my other friend’s babies did as well. My pediatrician advised us to stay away from Dreft because although it is marketed for babies it usually does more harm than good. We now use Babyganics and it works very well. First Generation free and clear works well too.
