Billy West (Little Pilgrim S/S Plymouths) worked for the Pettys and on occassion Richard Petty drove the Little Pilgrim in special match races ... even so far north as Islip Speedway in 1964.

NEW YORK STREET RACING 60'S & 70'S ~ story found
May 31, 2007 · Back in "the day" cruising and street racing was what we did. It was just like American Graffiti. There were no NSRA, Goodguy or HAMB events to go to. On weekends we would go to Westhampton, Montgomery County and the East Islip drag strips. Nights we would cruise ice cream stands, drive ins and diners looking for street races.
