If this doesn't feel satisfying, though, I think it's reasonable to work with your DM to modify to taste. As long as you're not giving it a +10 2d12 gore attack and firebreathing, I can't see why anyone would really make a fuss.

I've been able to replicate the height portion of this using the little information 5e has on Height and size linking, and it matches these 3.5e ranges (weight is much fuzzier). Or is the only advantage to having a second mule an increase in pulling weight from 1,700 lbs. to 3,800 lbs.?
