Since then the enterprise has grown extensively and now embraces eight buildings, providing gallery facilities for over 500 artists and studio space for three resident artists. In the late 1950s Drumm pioneered the use of cast aluminum (aluminum) as an artistic medium.

Don Drumm (born April 11, 1935) [1] is an American sculptor, designer and master craftsman based in Akron, Ohio. He was born in Warren, Ohio, and received degrees in art from Kent State University. [1][2] He specializes in metals, usually aluminum, steel and pewter.

For over 50 years, Don Drumm Studios and Gallery has been a home to the work of over 500 artists. Sharing their work with others is something that our co-manager Jessica loves to do. Each month she searches for artists that complement one another and match the season.

Feb 9, 2023 · Don Drumm Studios and Gallery now represents over 500 artists in 10 showrooms. Although Don Drumm Studios is not located in a high-traffic area and has no visible display windows, they appear to have successfully defied all the rules of opening a small retail business.

Don Drumm’s art spans the whimsical and the natural, the recognizable and the abstract. His range is particularly evident in the long list of large-scale works the sculptor and designer craftsman has created during the past six decades — what he affectionately refers to as his “museum pieces.”

This two-building showplace offers jewelry, ceramics, glass, sculpture and graphics by more than 500 American artists, plus aluminum, steel and pewter artworks and home accessories created by sculptor Don Drumm.

Folks can see his work all around town, from a sand-blasted animal wall relief at the Akron Zoo to the all-weathering steel sculpture that graces the outside of the I Promise School.
