The prototype, designated Model 0633, used a one-piece aluminium foreguard, however, Colt replaced this with the handguard from the M231 Firing Port Weapon.

Yeah, so DOE doesn’t guard nuclear power plants. Power plants have their own security forces, typically armed better than a 9mm carbine. DOE does guard nuclear weapons production facilities and has considerably more powerful weapons like the m134 and mk19s.
