Feb 7, 2023 · For this reason, the apostle Paul tells us, “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (Colossians 3:23, NKJV). The context of this statement fits within Paul’s teaching about holy living in household relationships (Colossians 3:18—4:1).

Whatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. Whatever work you do, put yourself into it, as those who are serving not merely other people, but the Lord. God Himself will fill me with power and a desire to do all the good for His sake, and He blesses what I do. What more could I wish for? Let us take Paul’s recommendation to heart – always do our service – all things – as unto the Lord, regardless what we are doing!

Aug 14, 2023 · In Colossians 3:22 Paul directs his instructions to bondservants, or slaves. However, the principle of this passage is general and applies to all Christians. This is what leads Paul to say that we should do all things as unto the Lord. Now, I know the topic of slavery in the Bible is hotly debated. We aren’t going to get into that here.

23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. 24 Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.[a]

Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which he promised to his peop whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that from the Lord ye shall receive the recompense of the inheritance: ye serve the Lord Christ.
