Nov 7, 2013 · For a 1000 person town I'd say about a 20 mile 1:1 travel radius. ~but the environment must support this. A town in alpine mountains is far smaller in square mileage. A "town" in the Sahara is more a collection or clan of large travelling families within a vast territory.

Dec 22, 2009 · For the main town in the area I'm running now basically there are a couple of types: Town Watch: These are just basically ordinary citizens deputized to keep an eye on things, enforce basic regulations, watch for fires, and keep order. They don't really have much combat ability and they'll just raise an alarm if anything serious comes up.

Dec 16, 2002 · Cuts down on the number houses, fast. Also, remember a town's populations probably includes any farms within a mile of the town. So not all 1500 people are within the town proper. As the population of the town shrinks, the wider that area around the town becomes. A thorpe's population might include a farm 5 miles away.

Some encounters i am thinking about include: -attacking soldiers attacking the town -the pc's attacking a navy ship with ballista -possibly boarding a warship and defeating it
