Jul 23, 2023 · This map is the official 5E map. Your one is a fan map based on the now-outdated geography for 3E. Long story short, WotC decided that Faerun was "too big" and shrank the continent by around 15% for 3E, with no in-story explanation. It was just smaller now. Then obviously the continent exploded in the Spellplague.

Jan 9, 2023 · I made a full map of Faerûn with the official map of the Sword Coast and The North from SKT (no spoilers locations) by Mike Schley on it. I used the 3e map as a base and distorted it so the Sword Coast map fit it. I put almost all the locations I could find on the map.

The closest political map of Faerun was in the 3e FRCS, which also included a trade map of Faerun which is amazing. I highly recommend getting the 3e FRCS. I’d also like to include Handsome Robs map from Candlekeep, he’s an amazing cartographer . This map is for 1e-3.5 as it was last edited in 2010 i belive.

There is no official 5e map of all of Faerun, only the Sword Coast. WotC seems to be focused on that part of the setting. This seems to be to a) make the setting less intimidating to new players and DMs by greatly simplifying it, and b) avoiding answer which changes brought on by the Spellplague were reversed by the Second Sundering and which ...

The map was originally created for a similar reason, wanted to give Faerun a clear image to support the globe trotting my players would be doing. I made a Zakhara map as well if you're players ever end up sailing that far south!

Jun 23, 2021 · Here is a redone map of Faerûn with corrected hexes. I was looking for a map with hexes and I kept finding some great ones, but they often the sizes of the hexes were off. The DMG says that hexes should be 60 miles for continent maps, and there's a distance key at the bottom, so I added a hex overlay to the official map that follows that sizing.
