Dec 14, 2008 · I got the "diskette drive 0 seek failure" message and had to F1 to boot to windows. Well when I looked at my CMOS features, I saw that it said my floppy was 1.44m, 3.5 in. Since I don't have that size disk drive (i don't know who does anymore), I changed it to "none", and voila! that solved that glitch!

Aug 3, 2008 · This Problem occured today. June 12 2009, I got on it this afternoon and everything was fine. I got on line and about 10 mins later it started lagging and having a hard time. So i turn it off (using the button on the tower) and re-started it. It got to the loading screen and right after that it said "Diskette Drive 0 seek failure".

Jul 30, 2015 · For some time before the Windows 10 install failure, my Dell computer has held up each time it reboots with a "Diskette drive 0 seek failure" message. If I hit F1 it goes on to boot successfully. During the Windows 10 install process that hang up occurred at each reboot instance but the new install seemed to proceed normally.
