ISO 4017 was prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 2, Fasteners, Subcommittee SC 10, Product standards for fasteners. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition (ISO 4017:1999), of which it constitutes a minor revision.

Comparing ISO 4014/4017 to DIN 931/933. DIN 933 and DIN 931 are both hex head cap screws with a coarse thread pitch, but DIN 933 is fully threaded, while DIN 931 is only partially threaded.
