The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is helping Western Australians and visitors to stay safe during emergencies with the launch of the new Emergency WA app, providing access to quick, reliable and relevant emergency information.

The State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer division of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), Western Australia’s leading Hazard Management Agency (HMA) for natural disasters. SES volunteers play a vital role in responding to natural disasters and emergencies on behalf of the community.

Emergency WA is the quickest and easiest way to find emergency information in Western Australia. Here you will find official alerts and warnings for bushfires, cyclones, floods, storms, hazardous material incidents and more.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) serves all Western Australia (WA) by working together to achieve a safer State. DFES’ purpose is to support the WA community to prepare for disasters and protect them against the unpredictability of natural hazards and emergency incidents.

You can find out the day before (usually after 5pm) if a Total Fire Ban has been declared on the Emergency WA website. Total Fire Bans are declared by DFES, using local government boundaries.
