The Diemaco C7 is an assault rifle that was used by the Pathfinder Platoon and Brigade Patrol Troop (BPT). The C7 and C7A1 variant were also used by British Special Forces. The C7 is a close copy of the M16A2, the rifle developed to replace the M16A1 in the United States military.

The Colt Canada C7 is the Canadian military’s adoption of Colt's Armalite AR-15 platform, manufactured by Colt Canada (formerly Diemaco), having similar design and function to the M16A3. The C7 and its variants have been adopted as the standard-issue rifle by the militaries of Canada, [2] Norway (special forces only), Denmark and the Netherlands.

These Canadian-made weapons serve as the standard assault rifle of the Special Air Service (SAS) and Special Boat Service (SBS) replacing the M16 and C7 in that role. The weapons were initially manufactured by Diemaco, who have since become Colt Canada.
