Jun 6, 2020 · The DC-15a was a rifle that had more range and stopping power. It was larger and was able to fire further than the 15s. So on planets like say Geonosis where the engagement distance would be long because of the desert the 15a was a better choice.

The longer is DC-15A There is no real clue as why is called "A", but maybe is because its a "Long Range" rifle and the model is based on the German Maschinengewehr 34 (MG-34), "Range" in german is "Angebot" so maybe is "DC-15Angebot". NOTE: I just came out with this assuption, there is nothing about it.

This was one of the standard clone weapons. Although the use of this blaster freed the soldier from carrying projectile ammo, the DC-15a weigthed 4.3 kilograms, and the inherit Plasma gass inestability reduced it's accuracy. But the blaster itself was very powerful and dangerous in the hands of a trained soldier.

Mar 12, 2022 · The E-11 may have been about half the cost of the DC-15A. (Not sure how Republic/Imperial credits compare, but Wookieepedia says it was about 1000 credits versus 2000 for the DC-15A.) Logistics matter. It could be that the E-11 is manufactured in a clumsier, bulkier, higher-tolerance way that's considerably less costly.

And in this case they using a toy model of the DC-15A which is incorrectly based off the prototype version of the weapon that was made before production, instead of the on-screen proper version of it.
