Planning, Programming, Budgeting & Execution Process (PPBE) - DAU
The PPBE process is the primary Resource Allocation Process (RAP) of DoD. It is an annual cyclical process to determine Department funding requirements and to allocate resources to satisfy those requirements.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF PPBE? Linking resources to defense strategies. Ensures limited resources are allocated to where the need is the greatest- based on priorities. Identify long range requirements based on known and anticipated national defense policy and military strategy.

The PPBE is a cyclic process that provides the mechanisms for decision making and provides the opportunity to reexamine prior decisions in light of changes in the environment (e.g., evolving threat, changing economic conditions, etc.).
