This article describes the configuration process for screenshot verification on a Datto appliance. You can configure screenshot verification on a per-agent basis from the Protect page of your Datto appliance. To do so: Access the GUI for your Datto device. Find the agent that you wish to configure. Click Configure Agent Settings for that agent.

Screenshot Verification confirms that your Datto device's backups are healthy and working. This feature automatically builds and boots virtual machines from preexisting backups and performs context-sensitive tests against the virtual machine's output to evaluate a pass or fail state.

The alert email that you receive when a screenshot fails will state which agent has failed and its associated Datto device. Log into the Datto device to see the full error. Check the Protect tab on the Datto device GUI for more information on your backup error.
