Longbows are ranged weapons using arrows for ammunition. Longbows are moderately powerful and can hit targets at much greater distance, but fire more slowly than shortbows. Longbows can be used with special arrows which deal additional effects, such as stunning an opponent or interrupting spellcasting.

It takes a lot of work to make archers do well in DAO, but you can pull it off if you get everything just right. As an archery rogue you now only care about dexterity, nothing else.

Apr 9, 2022 · The best bow you can get in Origins is the Sorrows of Arlathan which is unlocked thru the Witch Hunt DLC. The second best bow is probably Far Song, which is available thru the new blacksmith in Redcliffe.

Aug 26, 2024 · One of the best bows in the game provides core stats needed for build improvement - critical damage boost, critical chance, and damage with rapid aim effect. Whitewood Bow Comes with a good damage boost, making it a decent early and mid-game weapon for Archer.

Basically, you can make a good bow build by taking a bit of strength (for armor), Lethality, which will make cunning affect your bows rather than strength, and then focusing on DEX/CUN.

May 26, 2021 · Focus Nature of the beast as your first quest (which is lore-friendly if you play Dalish archer like you should!) and get Falon`Dir bow if you dont have Sorrow of Arlathan. Transition to crit-archer happens via aquisition of specific gear/companions.

Sep 29, 2015 · It's true that Grunsmann's Bow with the Thick Longbow Grip is the best crafted weapon if you are focusing on crit and damage. Cunning provides less crit bonus, but it makes up for it by providing ranged defense.
