Dagorhir Battle Games is the oldest and arguably the largest live-action roleplay / combat organization in the United States, with chapters in every state from Maine to Hawaii, and several others around the globe. We focus on hard hitting, fast-paced combat and revelry.

Dagorhir is a full-contact, live-action combat game, and combatants engage each other in battle with foam-padded boffer weaponry and equipment. To keep battles organized, realistic, and safe, the three main tenets of The Dagorhir Manual of Arms – safety, playability, and realism – are enforced by heralds (referees) during battles.

Dagorhir Chapters vary organizationally, ranging from Kingdoms to loose confederations of “tribes” depending on the local chapter, its history and its membership. Chapters vary widely in size, age, interests, membership and geography, but a common interest in Dagorhir unites us all.

The Manual of Arms was originally based on the 1988 Dagorhir Aratari Manual of Arms which was, in turn, a distillation of the rules contained in the 1980 Dagorhir Handbook (Library of Congress Catalog Card Number TXu 50-026).

Dagorhir is strictly a weapon combat game, with no concept of "magic". Dagorhir also eschews the use of character classes in combat, instead allowing fighters to create and define their own styles of combat. Fighters are free to choose their types of armor, picks of garb, choices of weaponry, and styles of play.

May 10, 2015 · Dagorhir is a full force, full contact game/sport. A person is allowed to hit as hard as they can, and I expect it when I go on the field. Granted, not every hit has to be a slam, but it should be expected.
