Jul 19, 2010 · Its a great product to use but not as great as the old stuff (DP90). DP90LF is designed to be a lead free "sealer" primer and used directly over bare metal. I would rough up the surface with a DA sander using 80 grit or bead blast it, which ever you prefer. Clean the surface good using a wax and grease remover.

Mar 7, 2002 · I found Lars's directions on mixing the same as on the can. Get some of the small plastic mixing cups. Figure out your ratios and pour the DP90 from the can into a quart cup. Then use a small cup and measure out the reactor and mix with the DP90, then mix in a couple of oz's of the correct thinner. The thinner will let it flow better thru the gun.

Apr 14, 2006 · HVLP? Generally speaking, with an HVLP gun you need 55 psi at the air tank, then a regulator at the base of the gun set to 30 psi, in order to produce 10 psi at the tip when the nozzle is spraying paint. Use around 15 feet of hose length or less. A "pebble grain" finish is the result of too dry of a mixture being shot out of the gun.

Feb 25, 2008 · Hi Guys, I'll be spraying dp90 pretty soon and need to get a paintgun. I plan to run the dp90 for at least a year, so I would like a gun that can lay the paint pretty nice. I would like to use HVLP if at all possible. 1 - I have heard that Astro Pnuematic makes a pretty good gun for spraying primer 2 - What size tip should I be running?
How long does a mixture of epoxy, sealer, and hardener last?
Oct 29, 2007 · I noticed that when I left mine in the gun between coats (dp90) is started to gunk up after about 10 to 15 mins (whatever the tech sheet says for next coat). I knew this because my sata gun came with a screen for the bottom of the cup, and when i cleaned it after i was done the second coat it was all gunked up with crap.

Jun 2, 2018 · Like you I got pretty good with the rattle cans back in the 90's doing my '66 Rivi GS under the hood using black Lacquer. I got to where I could lay it down as good as any gun. I did the same under my Ford when it was time, underneath the complete car, but using black Appliance rattle can. The only problem encountered there was the drying time.

Mar 10, 2003 · My other concern is that the PPG DP90 Epoxy Primer I'm told is very unforgiving if not cleaned out of the gun immediately. Will the cheaper gun hold up to this type of primer, or would the gun with the better parts stand a better chance. I know, I know, even with a $500 gun if I don't clean it out right away it would be worthless. Yikes!
