Sep 17, 2020 · For example, a recent 7/9 announcement that I know about the outcome of, for a desirable OIG with extremely desirable locations hired 2 13s and a 12 for the 7/9 spots, despite those applicants being told there would be no reinstatement of their prior pay; they would have to work their way back year by year, 9>11>12>13.

May 31, 2014 · Just FYI if anyone applied mostly because it is an 1811 gig...I work with some of these folks at one of the DOL-OIG offices out west. Most are former DOL-OLMS and/or vets. Great people. It's a broad range of investigations and protection work for when the Secretary is in town. It was a quick turnaround during the last post.

Jul 22, 2011 · The current HHS OIG announcement doesn't mention LE retirement or the age 37 cutoff at all. The DoL OIG announcement DID mention them. Are these 1811 positions not covered, or was there an error? Are OIG positions often not given 6c? Edit: Announcement DOES now mention LE retirement, which I swear wasn't there before, but still no age cap.

Nothing great had come through yet so I decided to stick with the legal profession for the time being. I recently joined the SSA as an attorney working in one of their hearing centers that handles disability appeals hearings. I still have an interest in Fed LE work and understand that the SSA has 1811s who work for the OIG.

Jul 28, 2011 · I've havent talked with any DOL (OIG) Agents regarding the timeframe for hiring, steps, etc. From experience, I know OIGs typically work a little differently than the larger agencies (ICE, ATF, etc) so I wanted to try and get some facts.

May 25, 2018 · No agency is perfect. I work alongside DOL-OIG and their leadership sounds just as inept, if not more. A few of them are trying to lateral with HSI. Other smaller agencies often have non-LE types in charge at the IG level. It is a lot about ebbs and flows.
