The EMD DDA40X is a 6,600 hp (4,943 kW) D-D locomotive, built by EMD from 1969 to 1971 exclusively for the Union Pacific Railroad. [1] . It is the most powerful diesel–electric locomotive model ever built on a single frame, having two 16-645E3A diesel prime movers. [2] .

Designed and built exclusively for Union Pacific Railroad, the units were named in honor of the railroad's centennial anniversary celebration in 1969. Accordingly, they were numbered in the 6900 series, from 6900 to 6946.

Dec 22, 2010 · I found a Micro Seiki DD-40 tt in excellent condition for $200. Is it worth it? It comes with orig ma-505 tonearm and all original. Thanks. yes! Absolutely. The arm alone has been bringing in $350-$550. This is for the stand-alone arm with a different base than the one on this table, but beside the base, the arm is the same.
