A photo contest instructions are the file size should be at least 1920 wide or 1200 pixels with a max. file size of 10mb for emailing. So far not working out to crop(s) I want with the D500.

So, if you like to do heavy cropping and do not mind the possible loss in IQ that often comes along with heavy cropping, then a higher MP camera might make sense for you.

Nov 18, 2017 · I have a D810 and a D4s. I want a D850 but want a D5. I can't afford either and would have to sell the 2 bodies I have to afford one or the other. At the end of the day, the D5 cost and capability vs the D850.....well, your head will come back to the D850 but your heart will go back to the full size pro bodies like the D4/D5.

ISO 3200 to ISO 4000 (so just very slightly better than the D850 - in the 1/3 stop range at most). B. With D800e? D800e: ISO 4000 and in some shots ISO 5000 (so noticeably better than the D850).

I'm a bit surprised that you thought the D850 was slightly weaker for AF - it has the same AF module and gets high praise in most reviews.
