Nov 30, 2021 · Bought some to load for my 24" .223. You can try and see I guess. Bearing surface determines twist. Weight is secondary. If a manufacturer recommends a minimum twist adhere to it. Others may have faster twist requirements. Do you want to single load from the magazine, or fully load up a magazine?

Feb 20, 2017 · The heaviest Ive loaded in 223 are 77s but I have a new bolt gun with a 7 twist 26" Bartlein. Not sure on the chamber, bought it used but jam is out there. Just past the MDT's 2.55 coal. Looking to get a feel for powder charges with this bullet (80gr ELD).

Aug 15, 2012 · Get help to accurately calculate and scope your sniper rifle using real shooting data. From everything I've found most are pushing 80gr 223 bullets around 2850fps. This load I would work up to and ONLY run in a BOLT! And 1st target was 2 Zero shots , then other 4 rds almost in same hole with one flyer.

Feb 21, 2012 · My typical SMK 80 Service Rifle load is a LC case, 24.0 gr RL-15, and Rem 7 1/2 primer. Seating depth is roughly 7 mils of jump in a WOA bbl. The velocity is going to run between 2650 and 2725 FPS depending on the bbl and the batch.

Feb 13, 2018 · Has anyone tried these powders in a 223AI with an 80? Varget is my go to powder for any thing havier than 69 gr in both my Match AR's and bolt 223. Both have 1:8 twist with Wylde chambers. My SMK load is 24 gn and I shoot a mid range F-Class match using 80 AMAXes using 25 gn Varget.

Jan 5, 2004 · Look at the 77g Sierra tmk, 80g ELDx and the 75 grain ELDm. All three are very good killing bullets. Pick the one that shoots best in your rifle and venture fourth confidently. There is a very extensive thread on rokslide containing good information on 223's, check it out.
