Apr 13, 2022 · If you wanted to swap a D21 I would honestly recommend a VQ series V6, they are inexpensive and very compact and if the engine bay fit a VG originally, it should fit a VQ. The other option may be a VK V8 from the titan, I’m pretty sure it’s still shorter than an RB, although it’s probably taller and wider.

I want to put in a new engine, preferably a fuel injected i4, as well as a new transmission, turbo, and have it tuned, etc. Does anyone know what kind of Engine/transmission I could swap for the Z24 without major modifications to the engine bay??

Jan 12, 2003 · The D21 is the first state-side Nissan light duty truck to offer a V6. Aside from some housekeeping the frame and suspension used on the D21 is a carryover from the outgoing 720 model though not exactly.

Jun 8, 2011 · You have to replace the compressor and the orafice tube and THOROUGHLY clean the lines (I use break cleaner and compressed air). You can not mix r12 and 134 at all. You'll more than likely want to go with a compressor that comes with oil already in it rather than a used one or something like that.

Mar 26, 2014 · There were two main transmissions used in the Nissan Skyline GT-R's from 1989-2002. The R32 and R33 used a 5 speed transmission from Nissan (FS5R30A), and the R34 GT-R used a 6 speed transmission from Getrag V160 (FS6R93A). The FS5R30A is very similar to the 300ZX transmission internally.
