Sep 4, 2020 · A small T25, like garrett, or an OEM turbo off an Audi or subaru, will spool and be fun. The real solution to that is to use headstuds, a thin MLS headgasket for a d16y8, and shave whatever cylinder head you intend on using, and use an adjustable camgear to compensate for head thickness loss, as shaving the head naturally retards the cam timing.

Oct 10, 2014 · The turbo you have chosen is a little to small for your power numbers to I would look into at least a 50 trim. I have a 57 trim 63 a/r t3/t4 on my car currently and I'm very happy with it. If you want a little better spool you could get a 48 a/r but realize when you want more boost the turbo going to run out of steam faster in the upper rpm range.

Dec 10, 2021 · Look at a smaller turbo, like a t3 .48 a/r turbine housing with a .45 trim compressor that will put you around 200 whp that spools nice and carries just far enough at 8 psi to max out the stock cam to the redline on 8psi.

Jun 11, 2024 · 10psi on a small turbo makes less power than 10psi on a bigger turbo, since the bigger one moves more air at a given pressure level. More air mass in a given volume is the key to making more power, not boost pressure. Without that dyno number, you have no idea how much power your 10psi boosted engine is generating.

Jul 2, 2006 · i wouldnt do more then 8-10psi no problems but the weak part of the motor is the rods i had my d15 on 12psi for over a year ran great till the waste gate broke and hit 17psi and broke 2 rods and bent a 3rd , i used 310 injectors stock ecu and a Cartech fmu, made 265whp at 12psi on the stock d15 best time was 12.87 @ 115mph in a stripped crx

Dec 28, 2012 · Ok so this is my plan of attack. Rebuild the d15b, Fresh stock pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets etc. Also will be installing ARP head studs, H beam rods, ARP rod studs, clean up the head maybe do some gasket matching.
