We can read in The Grand History of the Realms (page 159) that Tyr, Lathander, and Sune move against Cyric and successfully imprison the Black Sun in his Supreme Throne, under a sentence of house arrest to last one thousand years.

Feb 15, 2021 · Cyric didn't usurp any of the deities during the ToT which allowed for his ascension. Now to the bigger question, a lot of really, really bad plot decisions were made in the late '00s and early teens at WotC regarding DnD in general and the Realms in particular, which is probably why a lot of that era stuff doesn't really make much sense.

Aftermath of Spellplague: According to 4e lore, Cyric was imprisoned by Sune, Lathander, and Tyr in his own divine realm following the initial Spellplague Tide. His story more or less ends there.
