Culebra Peak (Spanish for "snake") is the highest summit of the Culebra Range of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of the Rocky Mountains of North America.

There's no trail up Culebra, but you have two main options: 1) Just before dropping to the parking area, locate an old, closed road that heads east. Walk up the road and when it ends, continue along the north side of the slopes before turning south to follow the northwest ridge.

Culebra Peak, missing the border by only nine miles, could have been New Mexico's highest peak. Instead it has the honors of being the Southern most fourteener in Colorado.
