Apr 18, 2023 · I pinned my LS3 crank for an ATI damper using the ATI pin kit and the radial pin is only 3/16"in diameter. I did it in case I ever wanted to add a supercharger. In retrospect however, a horizontally mounted pin (similar to a woodruff key) might be 3/16" wide but 1/2"-3/4" in length, giving you WAY more shear strength.

Nov 21, 2019 · Now for pinning the crank. I have other friends who have upgraded their pulleys to 2.8 I believe and they did not pin the crank. All of them say with a 2.75 I should definitely pin it... I have searched and haven't really found a firm answer on whether I should or not. I have contacted Pettys Garage to see what they say, but haven't heard back yet.

Sep 17, 2020 · Could someone clarify just a couple things for me on the BWoody Crank Pin Kit. The statement below doesn't make sense as it says same thing twice. So the pin should sit below the crank pulley just slightly? I have the pin in the second picture it's just a tiny bit below the crankshaft end. I want to just verify this before installing crank bolt.

Feb 14, 2020 · If it is, then take the ATI off and using the Bwoody kit, just drill the crank itself. Make sure you only go as far down as the instructions say to. Clean it up, install the ATI and push the pin in and then install a NEW crank bolt and torque to spec. On my crank pinning, I have two pins installed; 180 degrees apart. R.K.
