Aug 4, 2020 · Tried and tried to get it to sit level but it wasn't until we put the original hood on and saw the issue with the 2" cowl hood. The inner support structure was welded to the top skin incorrectly. Had to drill out the spot welds then align the hood and clip it in place to weld it.

Feb 11, 2020 · Once again , The cowl BUMP is just that...a bump. To me the length of the cowl does not look proportional to the long Monte hood. Look at the Chevelle cowl hood and the Camaro, They look proportional to the length of each hood. I am glad that they are at least trying .

Mar 9, 2025 · I'm running the JEGS branded steel cowl induction hood, it comes in a CHL box. It fit pretty well, but it rubs the safety bolts that catch the hinge in an accident. I had to go through a few until I got one that could be used without too much damage. Their packaging doesn't protect the cowl very well.

Feb 11, 2020 · I just bought a brand new steel Goodmark cowl hood. The hood is 70" in length, and length of the scoop is 42", which leaves 28" of hood in the front. I think it will look really good when my car gets painted soon. I just got the hood transferred to my car this evening. I bought it from Carid and it was $768 plus shipping.

Jun 25, 2024 · The aftermarket hood was around 100lbs. I found a spot where there was only one layer of metal and it measured in at 20 gauge if I remember correctly, so pretty close to stock. The inside of the hood has the multiple layers to isolate the cowl induction area from the rest of the hood underside.

Nov 17, 2013 · Here is a pic of a Monte that had a 2" cowl US Body Source hood on it. He said it was a perfect fit and he loved it. He also mentioned that they recommend you add hood pins for consistent 80 MPH driving.
