Aug 18, 2008 · Since my other cow had her calf the other day my Jersey has been acting strange. She doesn't eat like normal, doesn't moo like normal and acts like she's just out of energy.. I think she's depressed!.. It all started when she saw us milking the new mother... She got mad and tried to move the cow from the milking post..

Aug 4, 2009 · Please help. This cow is about 2 years old. We have had her a year. Nothing has changed in her care. She gets the same food, no new cows, etc. She is kept with a young Brahma bull, about 1-1/2 years old. Last night at around 9:30 she started mooing once about every 30 seconds. This went on all night until about 4:30 this morning when it stopped.

Apr 20, 2009 · A lead cow is good to have. Some will even put a bell on the lead cow as, usually where she is the others are close by. As long as she respects you and isn't overly bossy to the others I would say, keep her. If she gets so she's keeping others from the food, beating on them to where she may hurt them, etc. then I would get rid of her.

Why is my cows rump swollen on one side - BackYardHerds
Jan 3, 2025 · I have a Momma cow that has some swelling on the left rump cheek. It is not tender or mushy soft. Feels the same as the other side. It is just slightly swollen. Would anyone have an idea as to why this may be. The only thing I can think of is she was stung by something or kicked. I dont see any physical injury and she is not tender.
