College of the Sequoias is a two-year California community college offering educational & career technical programs for the residents of its district in Tulare & Kings counties.

The UMC Course of Study (COS) School is an education program designed for Licensed Local Pastors, those who are certified for ordained ministry, or those who are under appointment in the United Methodist Church.

Use Canvas to access your course materials, communicate with your instructors, chat with your classmates, submit assignments, take final exams and much more! Canvas is used by the majority of our faculty; however, it is not mandatory.

COS 121 and 122 are foundational courses that provide basic instruction and a shared language for Biblical interpretation and theological reflection in the United Methodist ethos. These courses prepare students for the upper level coursework required in the COS curriculum.
