The City of Corbin obtained a $200,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to prepare a Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Action Plan to reduce the occurrence of serious accidents and fatalities in our community.

With nature trails, white water rafting, fishing,horseback riding, scenic beauty and wildlife, Corbin is the perfect destination for an outdoor adventure. Corbin is home to Colonel Harland Sanders and the birthplace of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

The Old Barton Mill on Laurel River, about five miles from Corbin was there during the Civil War. The area of Corbin was sparsely settled and some of the earliest settlers, in the 1870’s consisted of the Nelson Cummins family and the John Moore family.
