Feb 5, 2021 · Make sure you need to use a broker first. Copart has quite a vast selection of vehicles that do not require a license to bid on and therefore no broker is needed. Autobidmaster allow live bidding if you join on their advanced or premium levels. That is the preferred method of bidding (and please don't pre-bid on any vehicle).

There are certain tiers of membership and at this point you are the lowest of the low which means you get the most fees charged to you. If you have a business license you get a substantial discount on those fees.

Copart sells to car dealers, dismantlers, auto body shops etc. Yes they technically do sell to private individuals but its not really meant for that. You end up having to hire a broker to put a bid on a car and then like in your case the broker fees basically double the cost of the car.

Nov 2, 2021 · Copart has a bad rep here, as well as salvage and rebuilt titles but IMO they aren’t bad you just need to know what you are looking at. I’ve bought 3 cars from auction, 2 from copart. Even some from Facebook. All were the same model. Different years but all the same model. All Miatas. I know what to look for and how to diagnose them.

Copart always was the bottom of the barrel in terms of trashed cars and recidivism. Never executed a purchase, because the fees are absurd. Try to find small auto auctions that let you test drive... some even only offer smogged cars.

Mar 31, 2023 · Copart is not an impounded cars auction. Copart is a damaged (often severely) car auction that happens to sell some impounded cars. Do not buy a car from copart unless you are a mechanic. And definitely do not buy anything with newer technology (forward collision, adaptive cruise, lane assist) unless you are some sort of mechanic/engineer.
