Dec 16, 2010 · It's usually 3" Sch. 80 underground with concrete handholes every 150' or thereabouts and after we pull the wire in we go behind and put a duct seal patty over the ends of the pipe in the handholes. I've only personally done it once but the traffic foreman told me it was more of a state requirement than a NEC requirement.

Jul 19, 2019 · I have a commercial building with the main disconnect in the basement. The underground conduit fills with water and soaks the inside of the disconnect, particularly during spring thaw. The idea is to put in Polywater FST-250 foam but there’s a problem. A previous electrician stuffed it full of a humongous amount of duct seal.

Typically a pipe would come up out of the ground (from another building or a remote pump station) and would run up the wall into a box or lb. Then through the wall into another box or lb most of the time. It would be easy enough to shove some duct seal in one end of the pipe.
