The below graph shows the IUU toothfish history over time, which has been produced from data sourced from the Scientific Committee of CCAMLR until 2010. Since 2011, CCAMLR have not officially estimated IUU toothfish catches, and so COLTO has estimated these figures based on market price and surveillance data.

In 2011, COLTO applied to the Commissioner for Fair Trading in Western Australia and became an Incorporated Association. Along with this, COLTO is also an Australian Registered Body, which enables us to operate both nationally and internationally. In 2019, COLTO updated its Articles of Association. 2023 Tagging Workshop | Coalition of Legal Toothfish Operators ...
In March 2023, COLTO sponsored and organised a COLTO–CCAMLR Tagging Workshop, which was held at the CCAMLR Secretariat in Hobart, Australia, from 14 to 17 March. The Workshop included both meeting room discussions and a hands-on wet-lab component tagging toothfish at the University of Tasmania biological sciences laboratory.
