The Colt Army Special is a double action, six round revolver. They were built from 1908-1927. The Army Special started life as the New Army & New Navy and would evolve into the Official Police in 1927.

SN: 474655. made in 1922. .38 Special with a 5" barrel. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Pre-war double action Colt revolver. Blue finish is in very good condition with expected wear near the muzzle, and light handling wear on the grip frame. Colt grips are in very good condition with strong checkering. Action locks up tight.

Jan 24, 2025 · The Army Special was renamed the official Police after a few years of production. They are a good solid gun and worth owning. The grips are the real question. Some good pictures of them and the inside as well would be great. Be careful with them and only tighten the screw finger tight if that much. Old pearl can be brittle.
