Jan 19, 2020 · I have a Colt 6941 which is a special run version of the 6944. The 6944 has a 14.5” barrel, a folding front sight ideal for optics (6941 has a FSB), And is a monolithic upper and rock solid, A little heavy, but I really like it. They are getting very hard to come by, especially since Colt has to pay royalties to LMT for the monolithic upper.
Colt LE6940 ---> 6944?? - AR15.COM
Oct 26, 2011 · I just tonight found out about all the changes to Colt's product line. While I kinda wish I had had the opportunity to purchase a 6940P when I bought mine, I guess DI isn't the worst thing in the world. What concerns me more is this 14.5 inch variant, the 6944. Ever since I bought my Colt, I've wanted a 14.5 inch barrel for it.

Colt monolithic uppers out of production? > Colt > AR15.COM
Feb 7, 2022 · Since this thread is about Colt Monolithic uppers out of production, I present to you that, Midway USA has Colt monolithic uppers in stock, 14.5", $1199. They have 5. Shows bayonet lug in pic, but it may NOT actually have it. I thought about picking one up but am shying away from SBR stuff until I see how the pistol brace thing plays out.

Jun 26, 2019 · The restricted markings continued for a few years after the AWB sunset. I own or have owned a 6920, 6940, 6944, 6520, and 6721 with restricted markings. I purchase my first Colt 6944 (6940 with a 14.5” barrel) from SAW in the fall of 2010. It came with a M4LE roll mark, restricted markings, and LE083XXX serial number.
Colt LE6944 Build (but as pistol) > AR Discussions - AR15.COM
Mar 4, 2019 · I wouldn't want to chance it but I would argue that the colt oem's are pistols. yes they may have transferred from the dealer as rifles, but the atf repeatedidly has said that it matters not what the dealer correctly or incorrectly marked on the 4473. Intent (colt intending them to be rifles) isn't a defining characteristic in the rifle definition.

Mar 3, 2020 · Granted, I only use 124 gr and 147 gr ammo in it. The machine work and finishing on the Colt from SAW was better than from the factory. Later, I had SAW rebarrel my 6933 to a 10", suppressed MK18'ish gun (I supplied my Gemtek TREK-T), with the reliability package. Again, the work on the gun was impeccable. I highly recommend SAW for work on Colt's.
