Mar 28, 2024 · I cannot thank Ken Elmore at Specialized Armament enough for selling me one of his very rare and very special Colt 6940 Barrel nut wrenches. I would have been happy if I could have found one of the Arrington Wrenches, but now glad I didn't. After I bought my 6940 I also bought one of these Arrington Accuracy Wrenches sold by Brownells.

Jan 3, 2010 · Ya but with the 6940 you know you got colt hand guards ;) I to like the versatilty of the 6920 more. But the 6940 is fine to. The only thing I do not like about the 6920 is the factory front sight.

Jul 26, 2021 · To remove the barrel you would need a Colt barrel wrench specially made for the 6940. Specialized Armament has a 6940 wrench they make in house and they offer parts and a multitude of services for the 6940.

Dec 6, 2022 · I recently purchased a 6940 upper to use on a Colt "M4 marked" 6920 lower I had made around 2013. The upper I got came in the blue box and does not look to have been shot or messed with. The confusing thing though is that the upper receiver has a C stamped receiver with no patent number, but it has a cage code marked barrel.

Oct 5, 2022 · The stocks on all colt ar15s fit exactly the same as all other colt ar15s. The 6940 is exactly the same as the 6920 except the 6940 has a monolithic upper. Also, the newer production colt rifles probably have outsourced parts. I think most 6940s are older, so will have in-house parts I think. ETA. Forgot the 6940 has a different fsb.
