So you are drinking 3.33 beers, adjusting for the 12% more alcohol you get 3.333 x 1.12 is 3.73. So “best” case by drinking 40oz of Colt, you are drinking the equivalent of about 45 oz or 3.7 “normal” beers.

Caliber is the actual diameter of the projectile. .45 colt or long colt is .452 inches diameter. .45 ACP is .451 inches diameter. .45 schofield is .454 inches diameter. So .45 ACP can be used in a .45 colt.

The 45 will nudge things out of the way with a vengeance and the 44mag will pulverize things. That is until you bring the 45 colt up to 44mag power levels. Then you have pretty much equal bullet weight options and killing power. The 45 has more frontal area and makes a slightly bigger leak hole. I own both, I reload for both.
