Runners and walkers can speed into the New Year on a course around the streets of Penn State Campus in one of our most popular events: the Resolution Run!

Dec 31, 2024 · The Resolution Run begins at 6:30 pm. Runners and walkers are welcome to join us for one of the most popular events of First Night State College, the annual Resolution Run 5k race. The course will be the same as in 2023. First Night State College encourages runners and spectators to wear costumes.

The First Night Resolution Run 5K was first run on New Year's Eve, 1997. About 130 hearty souls showed up on a frigid, windy night for the race through downtown State College and the Penn State Campus.

Dec 31, 2021 · First Night activities returned to the streets of Downtown State College and the Penn State Campus on December 31, 2021, after a one-year hiatus brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. The Resolution Run 5k was one of few races in the area in 2021.
