Dec 28, 2013 · Another less than beautiful weld job, but a dang handy coal rake. Handle is just round stock steel and an old garden rake that the handle broke on. Cut down the rake width and added the 3 ft handle. Now I have this hairy stuff on my fingers all winter long, and a lack of burns on my forearms too.

Feb 1, 2016 · Not really a rake but I made this coal scoop out of some expanded metal I had left over from the gate build for the deck over trailer. It works well but just a bit on the heavy side. Jan 5, 2018 · Ok. Just whipped up a quick coal rake too. Bent the tines on one side outward a bit so I can get back in the corners a little easier. Works pretty good. There's a glowing bed of coals right up in front of the door cooking themselves away. Sorry for the crappy pictures. This phone of mine isn't exactly a Canon SLR.

Dec 29, 2019 · For me it is a 8 inch brush, harbor freight welding gloves ( seldom used by me, always used by my wife), a quality ash shovel ( doubles as a poker and coal rake), a poker ( wife again....), propane torch, Rutland's glass cleaner ( maybe used once a week now), a razor scraper for stubborn build up on glass, DeWalt mini shopvac, and an Ash bucket.

Jan 18, 2015 · I bought this little True Temper 7-Tine Garden Rake Real Tools for Kids for 10 bucks ,over a year ago ,Cut the handle down, It works great, but, The handle was getting burnt up, So instead of waiting for it to get wasted Or replacing it with steel, I Figured I would find something to slip into it and shield it.

Oct 25, 2015 · I recently had an idea for a rake. I bought a cheap clearance sale garden rake from Menards for $4.99 and also a 24" piece of 1/2" rebar. I marked off where I needed to cut the business end of the rake. I cut the rake and ground off enough paint to tack weld it to the rebar then tacked it on. Then I cut a 12"-14" piece off the handle to use.
