Feb 8, 2021 · Not Coal, Blocks of Coal. So let’s see, that’s 54 slots in the double chest times 64 blocks of coal in each slot times 9 coal per block of coal to give us 31,104 pieces of coal in total. Each piece of coal can smelt 8 items, so that’s a total of 248,832 items that can be smelted.
