Jun 26, 2023 · Co-Irda is a combination of an angiotensin-II receptor antagonist, irbesartan, and a thiazide diuretic, hydrochlorothiazide. The combination of these ingredients has an additive antihypertensive effect, reducing blood pressure to a greater degree than either component alone.

CO-IRDA can be taken once daily, with or without food. Dose titration with the individual components (i.e. irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide) may be recommended. Doses higher than 300 mg irbesartan/25 mg hydrochlorothiazide once daily are not recommended.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic with antihypertensive properties. It acts by inhibiting the renal tubular re-absorption of sodium and chloride ions, which are excreted with an accompanying volume of water. Potassium excretion is also promoted.
