Jan 9, 2021 · Cladonia rangiferina and similar fruticose Cladonia species are found in your area, and I think C. rangiferina has the broadest range of the Cladina-type Cladonias, extending on the eastern side of the continent down to North Carolina.

Nov 16, 2018 · Found them on a spruce trunk. Only notice that there is a yellow clump among the greyish greens. Looks powdery to the naked eye. Kindly ID please.

Jul 6, 2011 · Lovely pics. I'm mostly familiar with Usnea spp. and Cladonia spp. for some utility. I'll have to train my eye to discern more differences in the lichens I see here. Wonderful common names along with the genus and species! Flaky freckle pelt, indeed.
