Dec 17, 2024 · Rusty sills are a common MOT failure on Citroen C3s. Fully welded patches (not stitch welds) are required to pass the retest. Protect the repaired weld area with primer and colour match the patch panel to the sill colour with a rattle can spray to prevent future rust issues. If your C3 fails its MOT due to rusty sills, don’t panic.

Jul 5, 2020 · i tell everyone i meet that if your sills look OK, fill them with rust proofing like Dynax S50. i naturally recommend a full cut out and weld new in but it can be a costly job. if you go down the wire wheel back and plate over, make sure you just pump rust proofing into it.

Nov 21, 2010 · The corrosion is between the sill and the underseal ( the underseal that hides this very well, no external signs under visible inspection) and not from the inside of the sill, yet it has a hole in both sills with no evidence of rust staining on the outside of the underseal.

One thing you realise quickly on such a project is that once started, it cannot easily be stopped. A car on axle-stands and in pieces is a 'project' and a 'project' with large holes is pretty much worthless.
