The sample configuration snippet, that Ismael provided to you, would be correct for all other ASA models, but not for 5505, as the 5505 is the only one with an integrated switch instead of "routed interfaces".

Hello Rtoo, Were you able to configure L2 VLANs on the ASA5520? From what I have seen, ASA5505 is able to do switchport access vlan, however with ASA5520 it is like a L3 device and when you use firewall transparent mode you can use BVI interfaces with IP addresses and then you assign each subinterface with the tagged VLAN with that BVI using bridge-group <number>.

do you know which is the default console password for asa 5505? I tried different combinations, searching over the internet but nothing worked. The default enable password of an unconfigured ASA or an ASA configured with factory defaults is empty, so you had just to hit enter.

The ASA is the only product from Cisco that I have worked on where they have a fully functional CLI and I still use the GUI for certain things. Setting VPNs is a snap with the Wizards, etc. Unless you're going after the CCIE, the CCNP Security focuses heavily on ASDM and you will be required to be familiar with it for the exams.

If yomething works on 5525, that will not necessarily also works on 5505. If you want to run newer firmware than 8.2 o ASA5505, be sure, that you have at least 512 mb ram installed (without securityplus license, it may boot 9.0 and maybe 9.1 firmware with 256 mb ram, but if securityplus license is installed, it does not even boot newer firmware ...
